Cost-effective forming with better deep-drawing formability
Hydraulic counter-pressure forming can be applied to low-volume production. It has good deep-drawing formability and is cost-effective because it does not require the other half of a mold pair.
The movies below describe the simulation of a disk-shaped blank sheet formed into a deep-draw geometry. The model includes the blank sheet, punch, and holder, and hydraulic pressure acts from the bottom.
These simulations allow users to examine and evaluate the forming specifications, such as material properties and forming pressure, to avoid cracks and wrinkles.
