In tube hydroforming, a straight tube is bent ("bending") and preformed before it is processed by applying internal hydraulic pressure to the tube and simultaneously pressing both ends of the tube axially.

JSTAMP uses a self-developed inverse simulation solver called HYSTAMP to perform a simple simulation to obtain the post-bending thickness distribution. This simulation does not need a mold data; only a few simple settings can give the post-bending thickness, strain, and stress for the tube within a short time.

In an actual tube hydroforming process, the resulting formability is governed by the internal pressure and the timing of the axis feeding. However, in the simulation, users can adjust the parameters until they can achieve an optimal timing.
