Welding manufacturing step: Preliminary Study on Designing and Assembly Issues

Preliminary study on weld deformation and countermeasures by reproducing on-site manufacturing manufacturing step on a computer

JWELD is a simulation platform. Developed under the concept of reproducing the on-site production manufacturing step of junction/assembly, finishing process and heat treatment in the computer environment of the user.

It has two simulation functions, fusion welding simulation and Friction Stir Welding (FSW) simulation, and can be evaluated by combining the effects of various tooling and junctions handled at the manufacturing site. It helps simulation to improve a variety of production challenges.

Easy-to-use Japanese interface

JWELD features an easy-to-understand Japanese menus and a graphical user interface (GUI).International simulation software is often difficult to operate with English-language menus only, but JWELD supports Japanese and uses GUI developed for field designers to provide intuitive operation.

In addition, the data required for simulation is available in CAD file, so you can use the design data as is. Mesh auto-generation function allows you to easily adjust the coarseness of Mesh to suit the purpose of the calculation.
Featuring Japanese menus and user-friendly features, JWELD is easy-to-use simulation software for field managers and designers who are not specialized in simulation. Without finite element analysis expertise, Japanese set window allows you to easily create a model. This allows simulation electors to take advantage of the fact that they are not present at the manufacturing site.

■ Key Features & Services

Easy to predict weld deformation and residual stress with high accuracy

JWELD is a software suite composed of multiple packages that support fusion welding methods such as arc and laser welding, as well as spot welding and friction stir welding (FSW).
Developed for field designers, GUI (graphical user interface) is intuitive and requires no extra training.

Prediction of Residual Stress

By evaluating residual stress and post-weld deformation, it is possible to anticipate the risk of cracking and its impact on durability. Additionally, by considering phase transformation, the reduction in joint strength can also be predicted.

Inherent strain database

Inherent strain database can easily add inherent strain data by using the identification function of the test piece deformation and the predictive function of the weld condition/joint type.

Complete simulator

Calculate the calorific value based on the joining conditions. Enter the predicted calorific value to calculate the heat deformation. It can evaluate not only behaviour around tool but also deformation and residual stress of FSW junction.
