HYCRASH Functions
HYCRASH provides the initial condition with work hardening based on the crash simulation model and forming part definition.
HYCRASH requires only the crash simulation model as its data for forming simulation. HYCRASH automatically performs forming simulation for all of the forming parts defined by a part ID. The result of the forming simulation is output as an initial condition for Ansys LS-DYNA. Users can use the input directly to run a crash simulation with Ansys LS-DYNA.

Key Features
Press forming process
By specifying the press forming process (such as bending, forming, or deep drawing) and the shape (e.g., pipe), HYCRASH calculates the thickness and plastic strain distribution based on the actual part geometry. Additional settings can be customized according to specific forming conditions. For instance, in deep drawing mode, HYCRASH automatically identifies vertical wall sections and adjusts the strain distribution, taking into account the effects of beads.

Calculation speed
By adopting a proprietary algorithm, HYCRASH achieves high-speed and high-accuracy calculations.
Designed for large-scale simulations, it can process a full-car model in approximately 30 minutes to an hour.

Supports pipe shapes
HYCRASH supports closed cross-section components, such as pipe-shaped parts used in seat structures. It can predict deviations from the design caused by changes in plate thickness, equivalent plastic strain, and pipe bending methods. This enables the creation of highly accurate simulation models.
