Application to metals with low formability and the processing of precise parts
A servo press is a press machine that controls the pressure applied to the tool drive system with servo motors. The application of a servo press to form metals with low formability and precise parts is growing because doing so improves formability.
JSOL have developed and enhanced various features to predict and to represent various physical phenomena seen during servo Sheet metal forming in order of their importance in the design process.
The major improvements implemented in JSTAMP are as follows:
- (1) User-defined sliding behavior
- Import pre-defined sliding motion saved in CSV format.
Users can define the velocity scale factor to reduce simulation time. - (2) Reproduction of the relubrication effect between the tool and the workpiece.
- In successive forming motion, the tool and the workpiece may be separated momentarily. In that moment, the lubricant oil leaks from the micro oil pool (concave part of the surface roughness). The leaked oil improves the lubrication condition and the formability of the work accordingly.
JSOL has developed a solver to simulate this relubrication effect and has implemented it into JSTAMP.

Simulation with JSTAMP
JSOL has developed Jservo, a solver that represents the relubrication effect.
JServo can virtually represent the differences of the formability due to the differene in motions.
